I am downloading some .avi files then converting them to the correct format for producing a VCD using nero, but they are too long for a normal CD to hold.

How do I split the file up so they will fit on 2 cd's.

Dont use Nero to encode, its too much trouble. Check out a good guide for this, http://www.afterdawn.com/articles

It might save you some grief later on to split the files up beforehand (based on time, i.e., framecount, not filesize) and encode the segments independntly
