Each phone is unique.
A code from another phone will not work on your phone.
Well, as far as I know, this model has three tries.
You normally need two codes for this model.
The next try should result in "Not Allowed" or something like that.
With this in mind, you have nothing to lose by another try.
Sometimes, a phone will unlock with one code.

Your code:Try this ONCE and ONCE only. Remember,
you only get 3 to 5 tries.
If you enter the same code two times,
that is two tries.
To enter code:
Make sure battery is charged.
Remove SIM first.
Power on.
Ignore ?Insert SIM?
Press the # key.
then press the "star" key (*) quickly to get the P and W and +
Press * 3 times quickly for (p) \
Press * 4 times quickly for (w) IMPORTANT
Press * 2 times quickly for (+) /
and the rest of the code---
Begin with # and end with #.
IMPORTANT!!
Verify code before pressing the last #.
Pay attention. You only have about two seconds.
"Phone restrictions off", it's unlocked.
"Error code" wrong code. STOP tell me.
"Not allowed" or "Can Not Undo Restriction" it's hard locked.
Used up all your free tries!!
If it does not work, tell me: What happened? What message
you got. What codes you tried.
Above all, answer.

I read somewhere that bcoz my phone is locked in canada

None of those codes will work because it is for a US T-Mobile phone.
The rules require you to start your own thread and do not hijack other people's own.
Please supply ALL this information in this format:
Type in these numbers or look under the battery to get the information.
Age of Phone:
IMEI: Type (dial) *#06# ,
Firmware Version: Type (dial) *#0000# .
Nokia: (Model)
IMEI:############### (No spaces, no slashes)
Network: (The Network the phone is locked to)
Country: (The Country the above Network is in)
Also any codes tried.

Say me,please,if your phone locked to-Canada-Fido,why did you tried to unlock with USA-T-mobile(i mean 31020,see your unlock codes).
And its possible,your phone is already hardlocked by yourself.
You havent always 5 attemts,sometimes only 3.
Try Joe's code.

i thought it was a good for all carrier thing when it said "use these settings below" in the post
