No sound after splitting mpg file

I encoded a file using TMPGenc. The encoded file is fine as far as video and audio. When I split the file using TMPGenc the split files don't have any sound. Any help correcting this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Define Split, you mean used Merge And Cut right?

Sorry, yes that's what I mean. I used the merge and cut to "split" the file in half.

Ok, and neither have sound? or just the second one? Usually with problems like this at least one has sound. Was the mpg file encoded with TMPGEnc?

When it was encoded the audio setting was incorrect. I changed it and re-encoded it and it was fine after that.
