Hi all !
I have backed up some DVDs now using DVDSHRINK and NERO UDF-mode...works great !
BUT...i have noticed one problem, here goes :
I have made DVD-R backups with the size of 4200 mb that plays fine on my standalone DVD player (phillips DVD 751), but have made a few with the size of about 3700 mb !
The DVD-R backups smaller than 37-3800 mb WONT play on my standalone !! WHY ????
If YOU have the solution to what i can do to make the "small" DVD-R to work on my standalone, then plz help me ouy !
Can i use something else as "filler" so the DVD-R gets bigger ? like :
VOB files = 3700mb
+
.MPEG, MP3 or whatever = 600-700 mb
so the DVD-R will be about 4400mb, will that work ?
I hope someone can answer ! :o)
Regards
G.

they play fine on my PC, and i gave one to a friend of mine, he could play it fine !
Can i use other data as "filler" on the DVD-R ??
...so i get 4400mb on it ??

The lack of data is almost certainly not the problem.

You said ou gave one to a friend and he could play ok.
I'd be looking at your player as the culprit. Try your copies in a friend/neighbors player.

Why don't you try it and see?
Just add junk in another folder and see what happens.

Try it with a DVD-RW
You could easily tack another VOB on the end of the film but it would take a few steps using VOB edit and IFO edit
I have a feeling that the latest DVD2One will allow the joining of two discs, you could use this feature to join another VOB onto your movie.
I still think you are barking up the wrong tree, there are commercial DVDs that are smaller than 3700MB.
You don't say which version of Nero you are using.
Try the latest version and use the DVD video mode. Or try Record Now Max

Or you could just try using a differant burning program. I use CopytoDVD and I have Never had compadability(spelled wrong,im sure) issues what so ever.
