I am having the same problem as you. I can not make a copy of a DVDXCOPY Platinum copy. I am currently using version 3.2.1 and it will not let me make a copy of a copy. Smartripper and DVD Decrypter can not even rip these copies made form platinum V 3.2.1. I then tried using DVDXCOPY Xpres V 3.2.1 and it still would not work. It would not rip with Smartripper or DVD Decrypter. I have a few version so I went back a couple and I found the latest version that would alow me to make a copy of a copy using Smartripper or DVD Decrypter was Xpress Version 3.0.2.

Any idea why the newer versions of the DVD X Copy software will not alow a copy of a copy using the "other software method" IE..smartripper?

Is there any way to get around this?

Have you tried doing an ISO backup with DVDDecrypter? By making an ISO image of your first backup, the data will just be copied straight, copy protection and everything.
