My Nero 8 does not like my Sony DVD+R's

I have bout some Sony DVD+R's and when I burn with clone DVD or ingburn they work great but if I try to burn multiple Xvids to one DVD with Nero 8 the disc just spins up then down then the door opens then closes and repeats.
I can burn Cd's with Nero just fine and multiple Xvids on DVD-R's.I'm not trying to convert the Xvids just burn them. If DVD+R's work with the other programs why not with Nero?

I don't buy either of the answers so far. If you can burn with one program the firmware must support the burn (though an update is a good idea). Codecs are only relevant when it comes to playing the movie, not burning the disk.

My opinion is that since the drive is the same in each case it must be Nero having a problem with +R media. If your burner doesn't care, you could try switching to -R. One disk would tell you.
