I noticed that when I used DVD/R discs and burned with Nero, it didn't format it first and everything was fine. Then I bought some DVD/RW and Nero first formats them before burning and they work fine. Is it better to format all discs first or not, or doesn't it matter?

There is no real "formatting" involved with DVD-R or RW discs beyond setting up your burning app to write the proper file structure.

However, when writing on a DVD-RW that formerly held data, Nero will take the time to erase the old data before burning your new project. I am assuming that this is what you mean by formatting, and it is totally unne¤¸cessary with DVD-R.

She must mean that when you place a brand new dvdrw and you try to write sth 4 the 1st time on this dvdrw with Nero it says formattin dvdrw which does not happen in regular dvds...
that happened to me....
But why to bother if your stuff has been writen correctly and accurate... :P ;)
let it go...dont think about it... :P
