DVD menu buttons not being highlighted

I only have run into this problem on a select few DVDs (so far only Daddy's little Girls, Harakiri, and Crank). What the problem is that after being ripped the DVD menu buttons are not being highlighted in the initial menu although they can be accessed. For example, after the non highlighted button is selected and I then return to the root or title menu everything is highlighted as it should be. DVDfab and ripit gives me the same results for these movies so I'm leaning away from it being a problems with a spacific ripper. Have you all had any experiance with this sort of problem and if so how do you fix it?

sounds like a bugfix needs sorting... maybe report to makers of the rippers...

it sounds like the ripper isnt quite getting/leaving in all it should in the ifo

That could very well be the case. Anybody have any suggestions as for working around this though? Of course I could just burn the main movie and problem solved--but I'm a movie+menus sort of guy. I'm wondering if there would be a way to initially make the movie jump to another menu rather than the title or root menu. I'm relatively sure it could be done with pgcedit but I don't have any real experience doing that so if anyone knows how and wouldn't mind giving me a small step by step to get me started I greatly appreciate it.
