I have DVD burning software but I can not back up some movies with copy right protection. I was told there were some Freeware ripers that could get past this. Does anyone know where to get it. If I don't back my movies up the kids will scratch them and make them useless.

Rip with DvdFab

Process with VobBlanker or FixVts

Transcode/burn with DvdShrink and ImgBurn

this guide wraps it up pretty nicely

freeware

1. dvdfab decrypter to rip dvd shrink to transcode(sometimes you will need to use FixVTS or VOB Blanker to clean the file before transcoding with dvd shrink) then nero, imgburn or dvd decrypter to burn.

If you can afford to buy DVDs, you can certianly afford to even buy quality commercial programs to aid in backing up your DVDs. It never hurts to have a number of tools in the toolbox.

I just wanted to say Thank you to everyone for your help.

So far it looks like everything is working. The "Freeware" is great and I will probably buy the full version of DVDFab.

As I had said, I do have software to burn a DVD but the copy right protection was stopping the copies. I had tried to get help at the store where i bought my burning software and they told me they couldn't tell me where to find what I needed but they did point me this way...

Anyway, Thanks for the help. I will keep you updated...

lol yeah you can buy dvd burning software EVERYWHERE but there worthless without a ripper because they still can't backup your store bought DVDs . they are two choices for rippers nowadays anydvd or dvdfab decrypter, thats pretty much it. if you do consider the slysoft products (clonedvd 2 + anydvd theres a free 21 day trial) but get it before the end of the year being the price is going up
