I just heard yesterday Nintendo might be trying to disrupt r4 usage by making consoles unplayable apparently they may be able to do this when playing games in wifi mode . I dont know if this is true but does anybody know or heard this ?

I don't think there's a way to detect the use of a flashcart, if there were we would've been screwed already, methinks.

Family friend, this guy knows his tech stuff. He said that its only when connected using wifi with an r4 they will be bricking the DS. He read about it in another forum which one i don't know . I just wanted to know if anybody else had heard this or if its even possible. i assumed its couldn't as it would mean altering the ds firmware unless they have found a way to identify it and highjack the wifi to download the bricking software.

Personally I doubt it very much... I would assume that Nintendo would firstly warn ppl about the possibility of bricking their DS if they accept a firmware update - as they already do with the Wii.

Never heard or seen anything about this on any major site and I reckon, had it been bona fide I woulda done.

no hardcore evidence from respected sources = daft rumour

I think this is pure FUD.

http://www.google.com/search?client=oper...=utf-8&oe=utf-8 if you are uncertain what FUD is.

--Original spring-loaded R4 with 2GB Class 2 Kingston
--M3 Real with 8GB Class 6 A-Data (kickgaming.com kicks butt)
