So if that right i can install 4gb into this notebook? I need help so whne buying new ram i know to get 2gb or 4gb.

The laptop will have 2 slots, supporting up to 1GB modules of DDR, so your maximum limit is 2GB (2x1GB). Make sure you get the right type of RAM (DDR PC3200 SODIMM)

I've not seen a 2GB DDR1 module, certainly not for a laptop, so I can't envisage how you could possibly put 4GB in it.

Yeah if that's what your BIOS says then it should work.

No, you need DDR1. 2GB sticks only exist for DDR2, hence my earlier comment, and why I think the BIOS update lies.

Hmm, fair enough, I find that very surprising considering the chipset you're using. What speed does CPUZ say the RAM is running at?

Lol yep, he is indeed. My bad, all the laptops I've seen with Pentium M CPUs have been DDR1. What is it they say about assumptions?

Unfortunately not, that will require a new laptop.
