Clone DVD hangs and DVD Shrink wont read DVD

Anyone seen these three scenairos.
I close Clone DVD and reopen it later and the task manager shows two open, but only one icon in system try. If I try to end the one that is extra I get the cant close debug.Of corse a reboot is then nessessary.
Anyone have a cure.

Second DVD shrink will not read the disk it just sits there. and then won't close. Once again debug routine and the only cure is reboot.
All I can do is use DVDycriptyer with regular shrink and burn with DVDClone so the system is working. I guess. Does this sound like anything anyone has seen.
Third If I try to reauther in DVDShrink it just does nothing
So anybody have a comment?

I used the Nero Info tool, to get the specs, so here they are, however I do not have nero installed on the system at the present time.Nero 6 refused to work on my system 9 out of 10 times.So I just use Clone DVD and DVD Shrink.

Update to the latest ASPI layer.

think there are bios updates avalible for your drive and motherboard, these are always worth doing

Thanks Nobbi,,,,,hmmm I would not know asipi if it fell in my lap. before I installed Nero 6 which has been uninstalled I did see the DVD Shrink reauther work. So What is assipi where did it go and how do I get it back. Why do I need it and if it is nessessary for these programs to work , I would think that the instalation routine for DVD Shrink and Clone DVD would install it and enable it.
However my logic is frequently flawed so the question remains and I am sure that other people less fortunite would like a review on how to get asipi happy..........sorry could not help that.

www.adaptec.com is about the best place, they do a checker and an installer. i find that Nero is happy to kill this layer on instalation. Y? i have know idea but have found running the installer sorts it out fine. Hope this helps

If it still doesn't fix your problem, I'd suggest you try uninstalling the Pinacle software (unless you can't live without it).

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the comments, but the whole point is I NEED the PINICLE software to stay as I use it for writting direct to disk ALL THE TIME. I have found that I have to format the RW's if I change even the pinnicle version. I just reformatted 30 disks less than two months ago.
I can make my dvd backups using decrypter,shrink, and CloneDVD, but just wanted to play with the additional features of clone and shrink

I f anyone can clear up the asapi questoiins I would love to see it. My research seems to indicate that I only need it for ????. My point is are we saying that I need asipi for shrink to be able to reather and clone to read direct from disk?
And did the uninstall I did for Nero 6 uninstall asipi too?

mychucky, DVD Shrink requires ASPI to be installed on some systems.
Yours might be one of them, so I'd suggest you do it. ;)

And here we go in to the magic of M$ and using more than one lot of anything on the same computer. Install ASPI it should not alter any other programs
