I wanted to get a quick and simple way of doing the following listed things with any DVD movie.
Is there a 'best format' copying of the original DVD in such a way that for each type of target format, I dont have to repeat the process from scratch, but just move on as a 'step by step' process?
I hope I am clear in what I am asking.
1. Make a backup/copy: Make a copy on a DVD (For this I currently use:
Any DVD - to remove any encryption
DVD Shrink - to remove all unnecessary files and leave just the main movie file, and then backup as Audio_TS & Video_TS files)
Use VLC to watch these files on the computer)
2. Make a copy of the DVD (shortened to just the movie file) to transfer to a PSP:
3. Make a copy of the DVD (shortened to just the movie file) to transfer to a mobile phone (SE810i - 3GP format)
If I'm understanind your question, I think DVDFab Decrypter can do this. Basically you want to put a single movie in your drive and perform steps 1,2,and 3.
Put your movie in the DVD drive and output to proper formats (there are presets for mobile phone and PSP). Basically, you will do steps 2 and 3 first, and you should see two items in the que and their respectable output names. Then set the DVD to output to your DVD-RW drive for the third part. So what will happen is DVDFab will convert DVD (movie only) to PSP format, then convert to mobile phone format, then do a disc copy to DVD burner.
Let me know if this isn't what you're talking about and maybe we can come up with different solution.
1. I want to make a copy of a dvd to my harddrive (store it on my NAS drive)
[In this step, is it possible to rip to just one file, instead of a VideoTS, AudioTS and various VOB files? And can that one single file be used to convert to PSP and other formats?
2. I want to convert that ripped file to PSP format.
3. I also want to convert that ripped file to MP4 (smartphone) format.
