Nero 8 ultra Dolby digital output issues

Hi, I purchased Nero 8 Ultra hoping that I will be able to play back my DVDs and files from my HTPC with Dolby digital support. I have a USB sound card that is connected to my reciver via optical out. The singal always coming out as PCM. I can't seem to specify SPDIF out anywhere. I thought that the ultr edition came with DD multi channel plugin that allows dor DD playback.
I'm stumped. I have a old version or winDVD and I have no issues with DD out to my receiver.
Any idea what I need to do?
