I guess you have FAT PSPs, so install first the 3.71 m33-2 then add the Addon V1 and then V2 in order before installing 3.71m33-4 and try to change in recovery mode the Option for firmware from 3.71 to 1.50 that should work, try it

Cuase that is the most common problem.

PSP (+[__]%): 2.80 < 1.50 > 3.40OE-A > 3.71M33-4 > 3.80m33-5 > 3.90m33-3 > 4.01m33-2 + 8gb MSPD
PS3 HD 60GB: 1.33 > 1.90 > 2.01 > 2.17 - NO OS
Nintendo DS [+[__]%]: EZ Flash 5 Plus + 1GB MicroSD + EZFlash 3in1
Nintendo Wii: 3.2U + 1GB SD Card + WiiKey 1.9s

insert any UMD disk (you need to buy one game), and your ISO/CSO files (in ISO folder of PSP MS root) should now work in PSP 3.71 m33-4.

Go to recovery mode and change UMD MOde to SONY Driver, which is the best, give it a shot and reply back.

1) No need for UMDs, just set the Recovery Mode to "NP9660 -No UMD-".
2) The ISO folder has to be in the root of your PSP, not in the "MS ROOT" or the "PSP" folder!

Reset your PSP. Once it's off, press the R trigger and and hold it and then turn the PSP on. You'll be in Recovery Mode. Go to Configuration and select the Sony NP9660.

there is a big difference between homebrew and backup cso/iso's, but it sounds like we are talking about both at the same time. if you want to play a backed up iso/cso you need to put it in the iso folder on the root of you mem stick. on the other hand, you should be able to run homebrew (programs not certified with sony) with your kernel set to 3.71 as long as it is in the game150 folder. with the slims not having 150, alot of games are running out of the game371 (etc) folders. you'll need to look at the readme for each given program.

I still play my wii, just not as much. Gave my PSP to my son.

well for me, ive always been able to get my ISO/CSO to work, but i can never get any other type of homebrew to work. I just recently got my emulators to work, but as far as all the millions of other homebrew apps, they dont work.
