hi all was just wondering if there is any way i can make a avi film file of say 700mb or 1.3 gig be upscaled to its original 4.7 gig i take it they have been converted from dvd format to avi xvid etc so can i get them back to original
i convert then with covertx so i can watch them but when i burn them they do not take up a full disc
any help would be great

Some people try to use a shrinking program like DVD-Rebuilder, or Dvd Shrink, before turning it into .avi that way the source isnt so big your converter is doing all the work. You also need to remember that those .avi's are just a movie and not all the extras like menus and bloopers. Converting back to DVD, will never look as good as the original anyway. You just cant add back what shrinking the file down 1/4 to 1/5 the original size took away.

I'd say dont worry as long as your process works. I've never used ConvertX before, only the program Super, and 99% of the time Nero Vision to convert files to a DVD disc. That being said, I can tell you that your discs will all look different due to the sources being different.
I mean, you might make a 1/2hour stream of HD video be 700mb or a 2 hour movie that size. I think the burn rings on DVD's of those files converted would look quite different.
