I'm not sure if this is the correct area to post this but here goes...
I have a modem, and a wireless router. I'm a huge Xbox Live gamer and it really pisses me off when I have trouble joining games and hearing other players talk. I'd like to know how to get my STRICT NAT to say OPEN NAT.
Here's where my problem is. I have a highspeed modem which is a Siemens(he he he) SpeedStream4200, that my desktop PC gets it's internet from. My laptop and 360 however, get the internet from a wireless router which is a Linksys WRT54G.
I've seen many guides on how to open a router, but none that can solve my issue.

Not really tried getting consoles to work through routers, but I know to access the admin section to change the config of your router you need to do so by opening internet explorer / firefox and typing in http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Unless you have changed the admin passwords the username and password is both admin
As far as I am aware you need to go to the port forwarding section (Applications & Gaming) and enter the correct settings for the port no and IP.
You can also look here and here

Hmm, did not work for me. How exactly would I change the username/password?
NOTE: I also tried my windows logon username and password. Sorry if I sound retarded but I'm not exactly the smartest person when it comes to stuff like this.

You can only change the admin username and password once you are in the router config itself. If they didn't work using admin for both, then the chances are it has been change. If you are the original owner it is something you have changed.
If not the only way to get into the router config is to do a factory reset on the router is to press and hold the reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds. This will clear your NVRAM, the configuration and reset the password to admin.
*** PS THIS WILL ALSO RESET ANY CONFIG ON THE ROUTER I.E. YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION SETTINGS ETC *** - So do so with great care and only if you know the settings to put back on once you have reset it. I would reccomend sitting for a few minutes trying to figure out what you cahnged it to. Or do what I always say to customers, "think of a new password, quickly".... 9 times out of 10 it is actually the one you forgot ;o)

As far as I was aware its port forwarding you need to change. Have a look on google on what ports / IP's to set to forward

I didn't get an option to edit post but I have some more info. When I run the Xbox Live tests they work. But I still can't sign in for whatever reason, which really sucks a big one because I want to play.
