right.......
first list, then budget, so we could try and change it if we need to in budget. just remember some of us liek gigabyte/asus, or ati/nvidia or intel/amd so take that in mind with our bias, and our expertise.

I wouldn't say any of us are too prone to that, but if there are any brands you wouldn't want us to use, say so.

Don't know how much of a gamer you are but this is a general setup i have saw people use consistently due to performance, how cool they run, bang for buck and how reliable.
I left case out cause that is of personal taste.

Edit - Forget the sony drive i stuck in there, did not read it was IDE

I dunno try what I have. I got it done under 850, and considering the deals on right now you could build something a bit better(getting a HD3870, instead of HD 3850). for around 900.

That's a sound list He_Man. To save some dollars, you could go with an HD3850, but apart from that, top notch. Of course you have to consider that people have to buy a case for all that lot too!

Bah, even the geek takes a holiday, or at least this one does. I've just returned from a week holiday to cornwall. I'll read through the long posts when I get back to York tomorrow (I'm currently at my parents' house). Normal service to be resumed next week ;-)
