I have been using RipIt4Me for the last couple of years, but it seems that it's usefulness is running out. I would prefer a freeware version. Something like RipIt4Me, but I would not be opposed to buying software. I just want it to decrease my time at the computer backing up movies, and it needs to be updated on a regular basis. thanks in advance for your help.

There is no "best" program. There are a number (few) that are very good and different people like different methods.

I am looking for a "one click" method, like I use with RitIt4Me. Really, I am looking for something user friendly that is dependable. Thanks.

Then it's going to be a pay for program and check out the two in my post on pay for ( they are the most popular, and seem to work the best, and are updated frequently )

Is the dvdfabhddecrypter 4.0.3.0 a stand alone program, or do I need other components to backup a DVD? Thanks.

I do not see the instructions for DVDFabHDDecrypter. What I need to know is does it walk me through the steps. ie: do I need to open DVD Shrink, and can I use Nero to burn it? Thanks again for all your help. You guys are great.

If I purchase just AnyDVD. What other components do I need to backup a complete DVD? Sorry for all the questions. Just a newbie trying to pick the brains of the experts. Thanks.

A transcoding program for shrinking and a burning program since AnyDVD does not do these activities.

So, DVD Shrink should be fine? Or do you recommend a different one? Thanks.

95% of my backups are accomplished with AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. The other 5% are done with AnyDVD and CloneCD. I have a number of other assorted rippers, transcoders and burners, but being lazy I seldom, if ever, use them. My choices work for me 100% of the time.

DVD Shrink and AnyDVD by slysoft is the best combo. Every since I started using this combo over a year ago I've had zero problems. Just keep the AnyDVD updated and you're set. Its super simple to reauthor the DVD to just have the movie and none of the extras. This is excellent for kids movies so you can just stick in the movie and don't have to worry with menus and previews.

1. Money is not the problem
Use AnyDVD with CloneDVD. The best solutin so far...
2. I love free stuff
Use DVDFab Decrypter plus DVD Shrink and a burner of your choise...
3. I have all the time of the world to kill (back to the roots)
Use DVD Decrypter plus IFOedit plus ReMpeg2 plus bitrate calc (all free tools)...

With DVDFABHDDecrypter OR AnyDVD, do I need to use FixVTS? Or can I just go straight to DVD Shrink? Thanks everyone.

sometimes after you rip with dvdfab decrypter you will need to use FixVTS or VOB Blanker to clean the file so dvd shrink won't have trouble transcoding it so yes. with anydvd you won't need to use FixVTS

Is there a way to use FixVTS so that it will check all the VTS files, without me having to select each one individualy? Thanks.
