Yes, I pick the first file and then hit full dvd backup ( in place )
and away it goes.

this is no longer true as DVDFab has now been fixed, well a version or few ago..

Updated today 4.0.3.2
http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm

Changes in DVDFab Platinum 4.0.3.2 (Dec 29, 2007):
* New: Improved support for CORE X2 protection.
* Fix: A freeze problem when copying DVD in certain cases, which was introduced in 4.0.3.0, sorry!

^Thats the problem I had with copying my movies so i hope i can use dvdfab now cuz im still using anydvd with ripit4me which still does a good job.

What is the difference between DVDFABHDDECRYPTER and DVDDECRYPTER? Which one is better?

DVDFABHDDecrypter is better because it is updated whereas DVDDecrypter has not been updated for a few years and will not be. Both basically do the same type of job.

dvd decrypter is a good burning engine also it rips ISO files to your HD etc.

dvdfab decrypter is just a ripper (removes copy protection)

So,dvdfab decrypter is a must have for removing the copy protection whereas the dvd decrypter just burns the files to disk? So, I would need dvdfab decrypter for all movies then, and not necessarily dvd decrypter. Thanks for explaining that. I don't know what I would do without you guys. (probably just burn coasters)

theres several options to backup your DVDs read though these

freeware

1. dvdfab decrypter to rip dvd shrink to transcode(sometimes you will need to use FixVTS or VOB Blanker to clean the file before transcoding with dvd shrink) then nero, imgburn or dvd decrypter to burn.

pay programs

1. clonedvd 2 +anydvd 21 day free trial updates for life very easy to use etc.

How do you guys use RipIt4me when ANYDVD is running in the background?

I have tried this any it does not work. It gives me an error stating that the DVD is being used by ANYDVD. What I have been doing is backing up the complete DVD into the HD and then using shrink to back it up. I read comments to process them through FIXVTS or VOB but I only have FIXVTS and not sure how to use it without RitIt4me doing the driving. That being because I am not sure what each program does. This was the only way that I could backup Rush Hour 3 and Hairsray.

ripit4me won't run with anydvd on so you need to turn anydvd off of using ripit4me fixvts cleans the file further so dvd shrink can transcode it better you don't need to run both fixvts and vob blanker just use one of them. use these guides to explain the step by step process

Well, I took some of your advice and purchased AnyDVD and DVDClone2. I also did it because it was supposed to go up 40% after today, plus they were offering a 20% discount as well. Thanks for all your help.

I have burned several DVDs without any issues with the programs mentioned below, some have included menu and special features. However the newer DVDs are way to advanced for the programs so I had to switch to ANYDVD with a combination of the old programs.

For some reason I have had no success with DVDs that have multiple episodes within the DVD. Example would be Greys Season 1 and Mickeys Twice Upon a Christmas to name a few. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong??? The DVDs that I brun work good when on a computer but not on a stand alone DVD player. By work on a computer I mean menus and playback works fine. On a stand alone player it only tries to read it then it stops.

RipIt4Me Version 1.6.7.0
DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.4.0 coded by Lighting UK
FixVTS 1.603
DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15
nero burning ROM 6 version 6.0.0.11 or IMG TOOL Burner

Thanks for the help,
edlonwlf

could be a couple reasons, more than likely its a media or burn speed problem. using Verbatim ot Taiyo Yuden burning between 4x and 8x max increases your chances of playing back with no problems. then you have a format issue the DVD dash R seem to be the most compatible with most DVD players and if your using the DVD plus R format try booktyping them to DVD-ROM that will make them more compatible with most DVD players,

also update nero to 6.6.0.18 its the best version
