I started by copyping a dvd to my hard drive using dvd shrink. Then i burned the files to a 2.4x dual layer dvd using nero burning rom. It moslty worked fine for two movie dvd's, (except for a little skipping) but when i tried three different show dvd's and then put it in the dvd player it played for 5 seconds and then said the disc's were dirty. I was burning the disc's at 2.4x and my computer is brand new. The original disc's are a little scratched but work fine in a dvd player. If anyone could give me any advice on this problem and also possibly why the movie dvd's were skipping that would be greatly appreciated

your DVD player may not be compatible with the DL media check your dvd players spec. also try booktypying the DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM then see if they playback better

Which dvd rom type should i use ISO, Boot, UDF or UDF/ISO. For each one of those it tells me that it will not work and that if I want it to work in a standalone dvd player then i should used dvd-video.
Thanks

I only backup "Movie Only " on single layers. If you are burning DL discs, go with ImgBurn (is free), people say it handles dual layers much better than Nero.
