if i bought a ds from america could i play uk games in it?
if i bought a us game would it be able to connect with uk games? (for example mario kart)

so that might have been a silly question..., if you had 2 ds's with m3 simply on with the same rom could u connect?

yes mate my kids have a 2 r4ds , 1 m3ds simply and an old supercard sd / superkey and they all connect to play against each other .
