are there any disadvantages to running cfw

hi and happy new year

i was just wondering if there are any disadvantages to running cfw i.e. do you loose any of the functions that are on the standard firmware.also when running iso's does it matter what region there from or do they have to be patched.

any help appreciated

game UMDs on psp are not region coded, neither are the isos

I'm guessing that you are not on CFW yet but it was best thing i ever did. No loss of any features at all. Its proper confusing at first sorting it all out but once you done it once you will wonder why you ever stayed on OFw at all. If anything OFW is miles behind what CFW can do.
Once on CFW regions etc thing of the past.

Well there is a loss of one that I know of - LocationFree player but no biggie if it's not something you use. Plus you need the base station which is sold separately.

The new shoutcast radio that comes with 3.80 is also not available with custom firmware. But hopefully that will change when 3.80 M33 comes out.
