I have just bought a laptop and internet connection, and i was wondering how i find out what my router is. Any help would be appriciated. Sorry but i'm new to all this computer stuff.

I have an Advent 9115 laptop
with a 3 usb modem

Should be a sticker on it somewhere, bottom, back or it may even have a logo.

Model. Actually, do you have a seperate router or modem/router combo or just a modem? The main difference will be one connection on a modem versus multiple on a router (usually 4).

right click your start button.

right click run.

Type cmd

Type ipconfig

if your default gateway is 192.xxx.xxx.xxx do

Type default gateway in your browser navigation toolbar
This should yield your browsers config

else

what is your default gateway
