Is there any shareware or software avail to support ripping 7.5GB DVD disk to the hard drive compressing the file in a temp Dir to 4.7GB and coping the files to a 4.7GB DVD+R or DVD+RW disk for playback on DVD players?? I am using WIN98 SE and I have a 20GB HD 1.2GBCPU 512kRAM G-force II 64mb video card. HP-200i DVD+R/RW Burner DVD Decrypter // ASPI // and the HP DVD Writer software??

Thank you MR Ross, Sir Ross
This link is GREAT,, I was able to bring the data in to a temp rip DIR on my hard drive, the 7.5GB disk was ripped and compressed to two files equaling 3.5GB using the SmartRipper. One file had a ext of .M2V the other file ext of .vob. Can I just drag and drop them to a DVD+rw and then play the movie on a DVD Player? I will update this listing once I copy the files to a 4.7GB dvd+rw and post the result of the Picture & Sound quality, so far so good. Michael

Thank you Mr Ross,, I found out the hard was, by draging and dropping the files to a DVD+RW, it copied the movie in full, but it only played it on the computer DVD burner and DVD player The PIC quality was great. I will attempt to down load the spruceup, if it is shareware. I greatly appreciate the asst. I will post my results as soon as I am able to convert it. I am learning, these DVD+RW's are fairly new media. Michael

I was unable to locate the spruceup crack yesterday,, but I am trying,, and I will buy it,, if it allows me to accomplish my task,, Thank you ,, you guys are very helpful. I will post my results,, as soon as I dupe a 7.5Gig DVD to a DVD+r or +RW after all the conversion processes. I Love a challenge. Michael C.

Ok I did it. If there is a easier way using the equip I listed on my 13 Aug entry. Let me know. I took the God Father which was a 170min 8GB movie, and ripped in in with Easy Divx 1 hour, then I changed the IFO to reflect the same name as the VOB files. I then used DIVX to convert the vob files to a small Mpeg movie which took 7 hours to have a 1.7GB mpeg movie. I then used Sonic My dvd to open and compile the movie which open in my sonic to a 3.8GB movie. I had to sacrifice on the resolution in order to get the movie on one 4.7GB DVD+R. It took one hour to make the DVD+R in sonic MYDVD. This was a 9 hour process. The sound was great,, the PIC was good. It had a slight blur which was only noticeable up close. I did the entire God Father set which was 4 CD, which list for approx $80.00 ,, for $8.00. You can buy DVD+R in bulk QTY for $1.98 EA at www.cdrom2go.com. It took me 8 bucks and 27 hours to do the 4 CD set. Was it worth it??? Who knows,, but it was fun,, and now I can have good quality DVD's , not like the real ones but NICE, for $1.98 and some time??? I Love a challenge. If any one out there knows how to do a 8 GB movie on one DVD+R 4.7GB disk in less time with Good quality,, Please let me know,, TKS Michael
