Check this list in case your ISP throttles: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs Did you set a static ip address, if not do so, just pay attention to what is said about the DNS Server (s) and Default Gateway being the same: http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm Select a port over 10,000 at options>preferences>connection and uncheck randomize port and disable UPnP as well. At options>speed guide>connection type, set your upload speed, utorrent uses kB (bytes) and speedtests are usually in kb (bits), 1kB = 8 bits. Edit: that could be a good speed or bad depending on many factors but not a good top speed.

What color is your network status light? (in the status bar to the left of DHT:)
You can also check if your port is forwarded properly at Options/Speed Guide.

The Speed Guide can be used to adjust your settings in uTorrent.

On the Speed Guide screen there is a pulldown menu where the words (Current settings) are.
Choosing a speed will adjust settings to their optimal for your upload speed.
If your current test results (324kbs/41kBs) are correct, then you can select xx256k from the menu.
This will set your upload a little lower than necessary (your speed falls in between their numbers),
but you should still run better speeds than now if your network status light is green.

You may want to re-run a speed test (there is a link to one on the Speed Guide screen) to confirm your speed.

Let us know how it goes.

Those speeds are considerably slower than your last test.
Did you stop all internet activity, including your torrents, before starting the test?

Did you adjust uTorrent with the pulldown menu?

If you have a green on network status and you have adjusted settings and enabled encryption, then I do not see what else you can do on your end.
It may be the torrents you are on.

Try the Slackware 10.2 Torrent (dedicated servers) torrent as a check of your download speed on a good torrent.
You do not need to download the whole file.
Let it run for about 15 minutes and see what speeds you get. (You can then just delete it after that).
The slackware is a good torrent for testing as it has dedicated servers.

Yes that shows you are set up properly as the 366.9kBs = 2935.2kbs, which exceeds your speed tests.
See Mistycat's 1st post about bits and bytes.

It is not so much where you search but the torrents you choose out of the available. See, Good Torrents for some ideas on what to look for.

You could take a look at YouTorrent as it culls results from 12 sites including MiniNova and PirateBay.

well, if you have a green status light and the file at Slackware gives good speeds, you're set. Pick yorrents with a high seed to peer ratio and try to register with a good private site. Peaple need to upload there to maintain a good ratio or are kicked out, public sites they don't. Here is a good search site: you can have a look at http://btjunkie.org/

Now I am trying the Slackware thing... It's touching 58.6 kB/s (avg. 32.8 kB/s) now. I have a 1Mbps Connection so 75kbps is max for me. So 58.6kbps is good enough for me! But how do I do it with the movie I am downloading?

Download Speed: 6.6 kB/s (avg. 10.1 kB/s)
Upload Speed: 7.9 kB/s (avg. 5.2 kB/s)

Remaining: 16h 23m !!!!!!!!!!!!!!:((((((

By the way, when cbrooks mentioned in his port forwarding guide that "type your IP Addy"... Yes! I think I made a mistake there. I'll be needing help in that. I have a LAN connection within my house and it is Wireless so all PCs are connected via a router. The IP Add. I put in is the one I have on the LAN. So basically, how do I get to know what my IP Add. is on the internet?

We have another router for our ISP's connection.
