I've been d/ling torrents for a couple of years, but I've never tried to upload anything. I recently joined a cult film torrent group and I'd like to upload some stuff in my collection. Can Nero help me extract a movie to my harddrive? If so, is there easy step by step directions? I haven't been able to find anything. thanx in advance.
I don't need a decrypter or DVD Shrink. All my discs are already done. I don't have any DVDs, they're all DVDRs. I just want to extract discs to my harddrive.
Okay. The ripper will copy the movie on your hard drive. If you don't want to use a ripper, fine, just open up Windows explorer and drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder to your hard drive. A ripper (DVD Decrypter/DVD Shrink/Nero Recode...) would allow you to copy only the main movie if you want so. Just because it is named "Decrypter", is not all it does. It copies the movie to HDD also. Because it is named DVD Shrink, it does not mean it will shrink your movie. It can rip, author, ...
Uploading isnt exactly as quick as it may seem. Well it can be, but it might not be. It comes down to your internet speed. If your upload speed isnt very fast it could take anywhere from a few hours to a few days before you have a fellow seeder.
As for your problem, I am a bit confused. Now I will see if I can maybe elaborate more on cyprusrom's responses. If your trying to copy a DVD(weather store bought, or DVD-R,DVD+R,DVD+RDL,DVD-RDL burnt dvd) you will use a program like DVD Shrink(a free application, search google), or Nero Recode which is likley in your Nero Software bundle. These programs can either copy the entire movie plus the special features,directors coments, and other extra stuff, or just the main movie itself with out subtitles or any other junk link special features. These apps will create a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive.
You will want to use a program like make torrent to create a torrent file of the video_ts folder. Then upload the .torrent file to the tracker.
