What options are there for GTA residents other than Rogers and Bell when it comes to ISPs? These ISPs are terrible if you use p2p a lot, I've been switching between these two from time to time last couple of years and the service is pretty great for about a month at which point they bring my bandwidth down to ridiculously slow speeds. I'm getting pretty tired of this since p2p is the only reason I have high speed internet in the first place, does anyone know of an ISP which DOESN'T throttle or at least not as much as Bell or Rogers?

I know how you feel man. The first month of rogers service was really great but after awhile, they throttle your bandwidth.I really don't know any solutions for this but you can go check DVDback's guide on improving P2P dl speed.

We're stuck with these crappy companies...

After a bit of searching I found this: http://www.dslreports.com/comment/2564/65772

I was pretty excited untill I found out I can't get DSL service to my house(not sure why actually), which basically means I'm stuck as all alternatives seem to be DSL only. My hate for Bell and Rogers just keeps growing..

Maybe someone else might make use of this info though

Im up in northern ontario and it ain't any better up here homophobe we have tbaytel and shaw and both are nazi's when it comes to bandwidth. I have shaw now with the extreme package and have been warned twice about going over my 100 gig max, they want me to switch to the business package for $179.99 a month LOL. funny thing is they told me before I signed up with them that they are unlimited internet. Now they tell me that it is unlimited for web surfing but not for uploading and downloading.

That's why monopolies are bad. When I have some time I'm going to try and get Bell to hook me up with DSL service here if possible and then switch to one of those other companies that supposedly "don't" limit and see how that goes. For now I have to put up with rogers
