When you encode your movie to mp4, you have to encode the subtitles with it. Make sure the subtitles timing is correct and the subtitles will always show when you play it. Theres no feature to enable/disable subtitles, so once you encode it with the video, its there permenantly.

Well I am using the ImTOO PSP Video and i dont see how it is possible with it, I also have the PSPVideo9
