Hi,

I've read many topics on this in the forum but can not find an answer. I currently use Nero to burn dvd movie images I have to DVD-r. The movies play fine on my DVD/PC but when I try to play on my sons ps2 the screen jump and often get no sound. Figured this was a burning issue so I have tried burning at slower speeds but with no success. I am using Verbatim DVD-r and burning the image with Nero v6. Does anyone know where I am going wrong?

My PS2 has a hard time playing burned dvd movies. Since it plays fine on your stand alone dvd player and pc, my guess is that ps2 are really picky.

Yeah, I think that's about right. But anything burner on my LG recorder (Not pc)seems to play fine. Could it be a nero issue?

If you think it's Nero, get ImgBurn (free) and try to burn DVD with that one.

Download and tried that. I do now get some sound but it breaks up. Thought it could be the media but Verbatim gets a good name?

yrob,
Is the burner firmware updated? Latest firmwares ensure your burner is running optimally, and that it is well-suited with the widest array of DVD media types and players.

How can I tell if I have the latest burner firmware? I am aware of people trying this with devastating effects.

Using ImgBurn: Go to Tools, Drive, and then Check Firmware Updates...

That's true. On the other hand, latest firmware will rectify abundant bugs that came with your burner when you've initially purchased it. Updating your firmware via Imgburn will take you to a very credible site for new firmware releases.

You've answered your own question & you are correct the PS2 is a useless dvd movie player,my xbox 1 ain't much better either, both the PS2's i have v1.5 & 1.6 as well as the xboxes have issues when playing movies yet the disks run fine on the comp, changing your software won't help none, been there done that.As for firmware update goodluck with that i'm sure it'll make a diffference *italics*
