I get yellow smileys. From all these forum topics and such I know that other than disabling the firewall you need to configure your router to allow azureus or something like that

The problem I have is...I can't access my friggin router!!!

I type in my ip address 192.168.1.2 into the address bar and it says Level_15 or view_access and it requires a user name and password
i cant get IN!!!! >=[
I tried admin and all these other username and password combos with no luck

my router must be an absolete model or sumthin...its SMC EtherEZ Hub 3605T

advice por favor? my router is prolly the only thing preventing me from having happy green smileys =[

any advice is GREATLY appreaciated

It's not your ip address but Default Gateway, should be 192.168.2.1 or is that a typo and use IE.

I could not find any info on your hub.
However, I checked the SMC guides at portforward.com and while most asked only for a password, there were 2 that had user name and password.

So a couple more to try (and hopefully work)
user= smc password= smcadmin
user= admin password= barricade

Also you do not need to (nor should you) disable your firewall, you need to make an exception in the firewall for Azureus.
There are some guides at Portforward.com Firewalls.

Go to start>run, type in cmd, select okay. In the black command prompt window that pops up, type ipconfig/all and hit enter and a bunch of info will appear. Is the Default Gateway there the same one? If not, use it.

sigh

my default gateway is 192.168.1.1 not 2
i used that but i still couldnt get in because none of the user names and passwords ive entered worked

does that mean a password is already pre-set?
if so...couldnt i refresh/reset my router or sumthin?

Like said above, your router isn't listed at port forward but I'd check through the SMC routers there and try the various listed usernames and passwords. I'm, not sure what resetting your router would accomplish, in my case, I have to reinstall my internet then. That is rare but does happen. If nothing works, you'll have to give the manufacturer an email to find out how to access it, they're very helpful, at least DLink was for me.

Found this at the SMC FAQ.
You might want to try leaving it blank or with name and blank password combos. I think the latest models only ask for password.
Other than that Mistycat is right about trying the email.
Your model is not even listed at their site.

Q: What are the possible default passwords for the router?
A: The password would be blank/admin/smcadmin by default. Blank password implies that you need to click on login without giving any input.

Q: How do I Login to the Router?
A: Open a new browser window and in the address bar type in 'http://192.168.2.1' or 'http://192.168.2.1:80' or 'http://192.168.2.1:88' and press enter.
