Hey everyone, I know this question much get asked quite a bit, but I have a problem that I've been working on and off for about 4 months and being fairly computer savvy, I gotta say- I'm stumped.
I'd been using a new vista pc with a wireless card I put in and azureus (not sure of version, but one of the newer ones) for quite awhile now. The wireless card was starting to crap out because of the long range between the wireless router and the pc, so I got a Hawking Tech. high-gain wireless dish adapter to get better connectivity. Well the new wireless dish worked great to check email, but it screwed with the IP configuration so bad I can't even seem to fix modem problem with azureus.
I'm using a Westell 6100 modem and I have fallowed all the directions another person posted as to getting this whole thing to work (I've had this working before the dish was installed) but here's the real problem...
I go to cmd and ipconfig says that my Ipv4 address is "10.10.10.104" and my default gateway is "10.10.10.1". Now that in itself isn't a problem, as the internet runs flawlessly, but when I go to "service configuration" under the Westell Modem (which is 192.168.1.1, if it matters), it recognizes the "host device" as 192.168.1.47, my former IP address. I've tried changing that on the modem but can't seem to figure it out. I've also tried changing the IP address on MY computer to match what is already set up on the modem and although the IP address is not a problem the default gateway is "incompatible" or something to that effect. I will check back here regularly, but if you know what's going on, you can also email me at
