raid and power consumption for new pc setup

how many watts is needed in a psu for a pc that has 2 sets of raided 250gb 16mb cache sata2 hdds (thats 4 hdds set as 2 raid 1 sets) with a 2900xt 512mb or 8800 (GTS or GTX) 512mb or 768mb, 4x 2gb ddr2 800 and a Q6600
and yes i will use 64bit vista ultimate
and i was thinking of getting 2x 2gb sticks ($202.40) for now and the same 2x 2gb sticks latter when i get more money and if i don't need all of it i can keep some of it spare or something
is the antec truepower quattro 1000w just a lil more than sufficient
i always try to go a lil over the amount needed like 10% for insurance so it can do its job 110% because 110% is better than 100% u know what i mean

Use a Corsair HX 520W for that build, it'll have no trouble. Full load the PC will use about 350-360W with an 8800GTS, maybe 400 with a GTX. It'd be 500 with an HD2900XT, but don't bother, there are no advantages to going with one. You can save on power consumption (and initial cost) by going with an energy efficient card like an 8800GT or HD3870 though.

U forgot to include the wattage use with the primary and secondary raided drives. What I'm asking is how much watts do i need with a 2900xt (since it uses the most out of the specified vcards), four 250gb hard drives set as 2 raid 1 (mirrored) drives, 8gb of corsair ram and a q6600
this time include all these components not just the vcard
- Q6600
- 2900xt (512 or 768)
- 8gb corsair ram
- 4 250gb hdds set as 2 raid 1 (mirrored) drives
just tell me the wattage not power supply names because i cant get some of them like the corsair fx 520w
if the antec truepower 1000w is just a little tiny bit more than enough tell me because thats a psu i can get for $321.20 new. Im buying from centrecom.com.au lowest prices in australia for new stuff

My PC uses 250W at full load, gaming/benchmarking. If you use a 2900XT, you'll use about 380W at full load. Using two more hard drives than me (I use two) you'll pull around 410, and if you're using a quad core CPU, the total goes up to around 450W.
The Antec truepower 1KW can run that PC twice over, I assure you. Go with the Thermaltake Toughpower (550W or above), Corsair HX 520W or Hiper Type-R 580W.

another question is how do i keep an 8800 GTS/GTX and the 2900XT at 48*c at max temp keep in mind the cooling setup thats on these cards

Why mustn't you exceed 48C? That's almost impossible without watercooling, but also unnecessary. Graphics cards typically run at 80-90ºC in normal operation, they just do that, they get far hotter than CPUs. With a good cooler like a Thermalright HR-03 Plus you could probably get the load temps down to the low 60s if your case is well ventilated.

the 8600gt in my uncles pc stays at 48*c normal day - 52*c hot day
those 8800GTS/X get 160 idle and 220 full load thats to high i need it cool as can be

Cybrspwn: Since when? The average 8800 idles in the fifties and at full load will only typically reach 80-85C or so. I don't know where you got those figures from...

Then either he's lying or he broke his graphics card. I wouldn't pay much attention to the reviews on newegg if I were you, most are cretins.
