Hmm, I've no idea. When I used it that didn't happen to me. Try WinVNC perhaps?

Yeah, that's what I used. It was several years ago though now, so my memory of it is fuzzy to say the least.

@sam

do you remember if that program had to be installed on all computers using the "network" or just the host computer.

Generally it has a server and a client side to the software. I.E.- the computer being controlled and the remote computer both need software installed. I might suggest using tightvnc as it is free and works well. Another I have used, but it costs money, is radmin and is also very good. Both will allow you to see what is going on on the computer being controlled.

Remember no matter how much you know someone else knows more than you do!

It needs to be run on both, but all you need to do is install the program to the PC you're controlling and leave it alone. As long as it's running it doesn't need any communication with a user.

I find VNC is an excellent program and it does exactly what you want. It allows you to take over another computer whilst allowing the user of the taken over computer to see exactly where you move the mouse and what you press.

It is free and very highly rated.

I use it to control my home computer when at work, and I also use it to control my computer from my laptop over the home network.
