Ah :P. Well my old drive is sure to have aloada bugs n' glitches and stuffs. So I'll format it anyway. And start fresh ^^.

Right well I'm ordering it around next month (yup that far away) So I'll keep you posted on how things turn out. You've been a big help so far, lots of people who I've asked before have just given me basic crappy info I don't really need. So Thumbs up to you :P.

Thanks Again

Okay so after some searching around for cheaper deals I came across www.ebuyer.com . I relised they have cheaper everything and free shipping and less VAT. So I decided to look for everything I was gonna get from scan.co.uk

Tell me if this will all fit together :

CPU
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/130484
RAM
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/98710
HDD
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124735
MOTHER/B
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136363 ~ It's not DS3L it's just DS3.
MONITOR
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131675
CASE
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/115546
PSU
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131052
GRAPHICS
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/138550

And does the motherboard come with an ethernet slot and is the onboard sound alright to use?

I'm thinking of buying an ethernet cable and I'm using my headphones for sound.

Oh and another question sorry....Will the CPU run without me buying that cooler? Doesn't it come with one?

Because I've got £620 and I'll need like £640 with the cooler which I really really really can't get. Yet.

I'm thinking of ordering it on friday...Yup. This friday.

The CPU does indeed come with a cooler, it's fine for normal use but it's strongly recommended you get a better cooler for overclocking. So by all means keep the CPU stock (or just overclock it a bit) to start with, and then when finances allow, order a Freezer 7 Pro to overclock with. Bear in mind though a small separate order will cost you shipping.
The RAM is CAS5, and is therefore cheaper elsewhere, so be wary of that. The hard disk is also £2.40 more than Scan, so consider how much you're actually gaining here before taking the plunge. As for the motherboard, it looks the same as the DS3R pretty much so it'll almost certainly be pretty good. The board comes with integrated gigabit ethernet (1 port) and surround sound, but if you play games, you'll really want a proper PCI sound card, even if it isn't an expensive one. Onboard audio is not good for games, not with this motherboard anyway. In all other aspects (sound quality, music, video) it's fine though.
Don't buy the PCS Powercolor card as the cooler is crap. In truth, ebuyer don't offer any good value HD3870s, you'll have to buy one of those elsewhere. The only proper 3870s they sell are £150 or more.
Your component list is fine, but as a whole, I wouldn't get it from ebuyer.

I see...Well I chose free shipping and it's cheaper so I'm gonna go and buy the http://www.ebuyer.com/product/105994 cooler as you advised :P.

Well I'll REALLY need good sound as I'll be playing counter strike and I'll need pin-point precision of where those buggers are hiding. But I guess I could hold with what I've got at the mo.

Do you know any good sites I can buy a 512mb HD3870 for the same price for? Or less price including shipping and vat? I can't find any and ebuyer has crappy ones :/.

Nice. I'll get that one you showed me and that card you also showed I can get that on ebuyer.com but not right now, I could either buy the sound card or the cpu cooler and I'll buy the cooler for now...

Btw. Do these sites accept Maestro/solo/switch cards?

They do, I've used them with one before.

BE WARNED! That graphics card is not what you'll get if you buy that card. You'll get one with a single slot cooler, because that's the exact card I bought from that site. It works, but it's very noisy.

.....Nyehh!

Right now I'm thinking of getting http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductIn...roductID=736198 ..

Because I can't find a 3870 in stock and worthy of spending money on (lol)

I hope the difference between the 50 and 70 isn't big.

The difference isn't huge, and that's the best HD3850 you can buy. Trouble is, it should be, given the price tag!

hehe.

Well I could always overclock it ;). And if it isn't good then I'm sure staring at the shiny picture will keep me happy

:).

I just searched "Yuruka" in google (my old name on ffr) And found someone used one of my pictures from an old forum I used to go on, he stole it and used it on his french forum. Wtf I am thinking right now.

Btw it's a picture of vegeta going IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!11 and I made it For FFR. And I marked it. But they're french so yeah..My god I'm famous.

But any as I was saying. My original budget was £400 remember? And now It's £630. And I have 600. How did that happen I ask myself.

Extortion owns.

That card's already overclocked, you won't be able to overclock it much further, but you should get near-3870 performance out of it stock. My god I wish I'd bought that instead of the 3870s. There's still time I guess...

I'd be saying the same if you never gave me 3 pages worth of advice (wow 60 replies on this thread)

And to cut down on expenses I'm not going to get the Freezer 7 Pro...I will next month get the cooler and the sound card and CSS. I'll download half life 2 and portal...And next time I get money I'll get the orange box on steam :).

With the stock cooler it varies, I wouldn't go beyond 3.2Ghz for the 6750. As for the Crysis performance, I'll give it a try myself and tell you what frame rate I get.

Haha, by not drinking, smoking or driving. I've actually barely got a pot to urinate in, I just spend pretty much all of my funds on what I spend most of my time doing...
Using those settings I get around 30fps for most of the gameplay, dips to 20 for a few of the shots in the intro. Turn shadows and shaders to low though, and that frame rate will double.

Ah, nice. 30fps is good and I'm not bothered by shadows and I usually have them set to low anyway so that wont really bother me :P. I'll fiddle around with the settings until I get one I like with NO lag...Thanks for trying it out. I'll keep you posted :P.

Almost all PC parts companies offer a next business day courier service in the UK. if you select a lower priority shipping so it arrives later, it usually sits at the warehouse longer, the shipping time is the same.

Example (assuming next day service)
If you order on Monday at 2pm, it'll be dispatched on monday evening and arrive at your doorstep on tuesday morning.
Same goes for tuesday to thursday.
If you order later than the cut off point (3pm I think for Aria, typically 3-5pm, now 8pm for ebuyer), it'll get dispatched the following day (e.g. tuesday) and arrive the day after (e.g. wednesday morning)
If you order on friday, it'll get dispatched the following monday and arrived on the tuesday unless you select saturday delivery (which costs a bomb)

Scan often delay orders by one day, so their next day service would often mean deliveries arrive on wednesday if you ordered monday morning or early afternoon (before the cut-off point, say)
Aria typically don't, but I've always gone with next day delivery, especially on expensive parts, the additional cost is so tiny.

Oh..Well What I was going to do is order it on sunday at around 6pm. Before 8pm. And choose the lowest delivery option...On scan it already says the carriage amount. So I guess I'll just leave it like that?

I just want to receive it before sunday. So if I order in on the sunday before it should come right? I could maybe order it on saturday...

If it really makes a difference.
