Matshita uj-815: long burning time

Hi!
I have a matshita uj-815 drive(firmware D101)and it takes 10 mins to burn an 80 min cd-r at 16X. From what i've seen, it should take 5 mins. It also takes 1 hr. to burn a 4.7gb dvd-r at 2X, which should take around 30 mins.
The drive is set as Secondary Master and is using UDMA Mode-4.
The specs of my laptop are:
P4 3.06 Ghz 533Mhz Bus
512MB DDR RAM

Using Nero 6.0.0.23 to burn.
Hope someone has a solution to this problem.
