when i select an mpeg to re encode to a dvd mpeg, the mpeg is reconised as 2 gigs where as some of them are reconised as 700 megs? any ideas

So you are selecting an mpeg-1 to encode to mpeg-2 (mpeg-2 being DVD compliant) ?

Cos if you have an mpeg-2 file already you want to be using TMPGEnc DVD Author to convert to VOB/BUP/IFO files.

Size will be greatly increased most times when re-encoding btw...

right what im doing is. going in to project wizard, then selecting PAL or nstc, then step to is entering an mpeg, then go to step four and in there u have the % disc capacity bit. now my orig file is say 700 megs, so i make it say 750 megs in size, but for some reason the file doesnt go any smaller then 2 gigs on only say half of my mpegs. some r fine some aren't?
