2 Questions involving .RM and mp3PRO

First off, I was wondering if there was a program that will convert real media (.RM, .RA, etc.) without having to wait the time it takes to play the file, i.e. if the file is 2 hours long, something that will encode it faster than 2 hours. Basically something that will take the data and convert it directly to another format such as MP3. I have plenty of programs that will record the stream (Total Recorder, All Sound Recorder, etc.) but they all take too long.

Second and less important question (I can just look this one up, but if you happen to know) what is the difference between mp3 and mp3PRO? Is it that much better?
