I want to be able to convert some of my DVD's to files so that I can keep them on my PC to save going and getting a DVD and inserting it every time I want to watch a particular scene. Now, I don't really know what the best way is to convert a DVD into an avi or whatever file type is best. Can someone point me in the right direction? What is the best program(s) to use?
Thanks.

Hi
1) rip disc to HDD ( eg dvdfabhddecrypter )
2) convert to avi with winavi or dvdflick

1) anydvd works in the background, so u still need a ripper as dvd shrink ( free, get it here at AD)
2)Dvd flick is better because of price (free, get it here at AD)

Just got AnydvdHD right b4 the price increase, so I'm still learning of it's capabilities. Most of the time b4 I used dvdfabhd.

DVD Flick seems to do the opposite to what I want. I want to convert DVD's to avi's.
WinAVI was ok but the output file didn't take up the whole screen, it had a black box around it. Also, there were subtitles, which I don't want.
Are there any other good programs to use?
