Ok guys. I download alot using bitlord and I've seen there are places to help speed it up by opening up 6881-6889 ports. I need help with that. If I try putting in my IP in the address bar it takes me to launchmodem. My average download speed is like 7kb and after doing this I hear it should be around 30 minimum. Help Appreciated.

BitLord will be fine on public sites but is banned on private ones. It isn't your ip address but your Default Gateway you type in your Browser address bar (use IE ) but do you even have a router? Some modems contain firewalls (looks like yours may) that need forwarding, check here for yours: http://www.portforward.com/english/route...routerindex.htm Make BitLord an exception in your firewall. Run a speedtest several times on different days to get a good average and use 80% of your upload rate in BitLord, remember 1kB (bytes) = 8 kb (bits): http://www.speedtest.net/ Use a port over 10,000 that isn't the default, I think BitLord only need's one and check here in case your ISP is throttling you and there are more than this: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs

Looks like Bellsouth is one of the bad guys. I doubt it will help but you might want to try a client that supports Protocol Encryption, only three I know of do. Azureus can be a little complicated, BitComet is well thought of but also banned on some private sites and utorrent. Definitely not a default port and use a port over 10,000, 50,000 for Azureus and have a look at ones other processes use like 1720 or 480 and disable UPnP in utorrent at options>preferences>connection or here in Azureus: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/UPnP Try downloading at an off peak time like overnight.
