Hi,
I'm a complete ignorant about video editing, so I appeal to your goodwill and patience. I teach music history and need to compile a DVD with fragments taken from different DVDs (opera arias and concerts). I need to preserve the sound quality, and, ideally, the English subtitles (otherwise the kids won't get what's going on in the opera).

I have got to the point of ripping the DVDs with DVDshrink to my HD but cannot figure out a way of clipping that would preserve the sound quality and the subtitles.

I will appreciate any suggestions.

I think you can easily do it with DVD Shrink using the reauthor function. load the titles that you need, clip the portions of the movie that you want keeping the subtitles and make a new DVD.
