DVD-r won't play in external DVD player

i have been succesfully burning movies to DVD-R, but when i try to play them with a external DVD player the DVD will not play (it either spits it out or get stuck searching) eventhough before i burned it i played it with ifoedit and it plays fine.

does anyone have an idea why these happends?
i have a DVD-RW DVR-104 Region 1

3 things to check that caused me problems in the beginning: (part 2 and 3 assume that you are using NERO to burn the DVD)

1. Make sure that you "Get VTS Sectors" in IFOEdit once you are done doing all your stripping and remuxing. This is VERY important.

2. Double check your directory structure in NERO. Make sure that you have created both AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS at the root, and that all the .ifo and .vob files are in the VIDEO_TS directory and NOT the root.

3. Make sure you select the last DVD template (UDF/ISO) in NERO. Remove the Joliet check and all the Relax ISO Restrictions

Im having the same problem m8. I have two dvd players (a Ps2) & a (philips region-free 955)
I just did the following movies with different results;
Antz(pal) - only plays on the Philips955
Flawless(pal) - plays on both
J.Neutron(ntsc)- only plays on the PS2
JohnQ(ntsc) - only plays on the PS2
13Ghosts(ntsc) - only plays on the Philips955

i am curious as to what the reason is for these results. hopefully someone will answer both our problems.
info. Im ripping with dvd decrypter, then using ifoedit to sort out the video_ts.ifo and burning with Prassi.
