the graphics is crappy; it's integrated. you will definately need to step up to a pci-e x16 graphics card. nVidia 8800GT or ATi HD3870 is what you need if you want to keep up with the latest games.

but when you get the new graphics card, you will need a new power supply, no doubt about it. and you CANNOT go cheap on a power supply. if you do, then you can damage your system.

you will be spending at least $300-400 for the graphics card and quality power supply.

I just oredered a Sapphire HD3870 today, from Newegg, for $234.99. Free 3-day shipping, too.

Now, for those of you in the know, is it better to download the latest drivers from ATI or from Sapphire? Or are the drivers the same?

And, I do realize that I can't SLI it, with the motherboard that is in my signature. I just want to dump the 7900 GT that I have now. I am not an NVidia fan, and I figured that since I had not put a second 7900GT on the mobo, in the 18 months that I have had it, I will never SLI it.

usually, the drivers from the manufacturer's website is latest, but the ones from the chipset manufacturer are digitally signed by microsoft.

when i had the evga 8800GT, the evga website has the 169.32, while the nVidia, has the 169.28 but signed by microsoft.

but when i switched from the 8800GT to my current diamond HD3870, the diamond and ATi websites has the same driver revisions. and i think both are digitally signed; not sure.

Thank you. It looks like the ATI site, and Sapphire, have the same drivers.

Sorry about the hijack of your thread, mrgamer22.

just a videocard & possibly a new higher wattage psu is all you need. vista might be a problem with some games so check game sites for updates & patches for vista & games.

like ddp said, just the videocard and power supply. your 3gig of memory is fine as is.

most members would go with a corsair power supply, as they are very solid and reliable. THIS one will do.

as for the videocard, either THIS HD3870 or THIS 8800GT. some members may even recommend THIS 8800GTS because of the bigger heatsink and faster gpu.
