I recently purchased a Netgear EVA8000 to play my media all from one location. I am able to rip most of my movies easily with DVD Decryptor. I now have to convert to WMVs to adequately play over my wireless network for streaming. I have been trying MagicRipper for the free 5 times without purchasing. It takes from 5 to 7 hours to do this task. Is there any better and quicker methods to convert to WMV? And when we put the WMVs on my sons zune, that takes another 3 hours to do also.

I would like to speed up some if possible.

I know DVDFAB will convert, does it perform it any quicker - possibly? DVDFAB Platinum is some $50-60 vice the MagicRipper is like $35.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Thanks for the reply...

I am curious, which compressed format does better for playback on a large screen?

On my Netgear, I can see occasional low quality video on the WMV files. Infrequent and not on all titles. Is the MPEG4 a better format for video streaming and compression?

It may be my wireless network causing a problem as well. I am looking to connect wired if necessary. I am thinking that I can connect my WD MyBook HD directly through the USB port on the EVA8000.

Any more inputs are greatly appreciated.

Mike
