Inspiron 9100 Processor?

Greetings,

I've recently become the hand-me-down owner of a dell inspiron 9100 laptop. I've been tinkering with it and decided I would like to upgrade the memory and processor and attempt to re-install xp or vista on it. For the memory I've found: 1GB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 400 (PC 3200). Which I believe is compatible. But what about the processor? I'm not sure what socket type it is, and can't decide on a particular brand or series. Does anyone know of a way to determine what socket type it is? What do you think of the dual cores? Would a dual core be compatible with my system? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
