I have a DVD (copy only) which would play in my DVD player for a few seconds and get stuck. If I press fastforward, it would go on until the end. If I play normal, it would get stuck again after a few seconds.

I have copied the DVD into the hard disk which could then be played normally by PowerDVD.
I have tried making another copy of the DVD from the hard disk files; and even reauthoring the title using IFOedit, the problem was still there.

I think most likely there might be some problems with the VOB files.
Any suggestions as to how I can patch the VOBs in order to make a playable copy for my DVD player.

If the source is corrupt then no I would think there's nothing that can be done , other than getting hold of the disc again & try ripping it afresh.

Hiya hkgymman1,

if you suspect the VOBs are corrupt, check them this way:

Use IFOEdit with ONLY the VOBs
"Create IFOs"
Have a look at the PGC/Chapter info from VTS_01_0.IFO (the root of the file), of particular interest is cell & ID data.

You could even post the data here (hint).

Do a "Get VTS sectors"
Test & Burn (not Nero, please!!)

Have Fun...
