System shuts down after installing disc for burning in Nero 8

I have just installed Nero 8. When inserting a cd or dvd for burning the system shuts down and then re-boots. Have un-installed and re-installed three times but the problem persists.

Crippy, how much RAM do you have?

Also, check Device Manager for any conflicts (the yellow exclamation marks)

Nero 8 has been problemmatic for many.It seemed that Nero 7 was less so. If you have Nero 7, try a reinstall and see if your problem goes away.

iluvendo makes an excellent point. It took me awhile to get 8 running smoothly.

If you're going to reinstall 7, try the clean-up tool for Nero 8 to clean up the bits and pieces.

I have checked the device manager and everything appears to be OK there. I have now un-installed 8 and re-installed Nero 6 (never had 7) and everything now seems to be working fine.
