Nero won't burn DVDs

A DVD burner will play but not burn.
I'm using Nero 6.x and here is the most recent log file.

I noticed in the forum archive that a user had a similar problem that was due to Roxio drivers.
This log mentions the same drivers.
I do not know if that is what is causing the problem.
I also do not know the best way to remove all remaining traces of Roxio. Please note that Roxio has removed the Roxio zapper from their site. I spent a lot of time on the softpedia site trying to download the zapper, only to find out that Roxio has discontinued it and it is no longer available for download--anywhere.
They said their reason for removing it was that it was only intended to remove versions 4 and 5, not the later versions, so it was doing more harm than good to leave it up.

Any suggestions on what the problem is after
reading the log, suggestions on how to remove Roxio completely, or even suggestions on how to learn to read the Nero logs and interpret them
would be most welcome!

Thanks for the suggestion about the RAM.
Could you please tell me where in the log is the information
about how much RAM the computer has?
I would like to know myself how to get this information,
as well as type of RAM that the computer uses, if possible.

As for your softpedia link,
I said in my original post that I had already tried
the very link you are suggesting.
It is no longer available.
Click the download button all you want.
It will run you around in circles as it did me.
Click on the external mirror1 link and you will find
that it leads to the classic "The webpage cannot be found" message.
I did, however, find in my research on the Roxio website step-by-step instructions for removing Roxio completely.
I will try these instructions next time I am around said computer.
It is for a friend.

As for the firmware udate,
it gives three versions of Optiarc AD-7191A,
that is 1.03, 1.04, and 1.05
along with dire warnings not to attempt this if you don't know exactly what you are doing, and I don't.
I wouldn't even know which of the three to pick for starters.

as Rotary has said, you're in virtual memory territory
which means your hard disc will be 'swapping', therefore interfering with the burn.
you really need at least 256Mb of free memory

you need the 1.05

you seem to have 2 logs here

the first you burned at 16x...the second you burned at 4x
it can be just as bad to burn to slow as to burn to fast

i would suggest that an 6x burn would be better

You have firmware version 1.04, so you need 1.05.
Firmware updates are not that big a deal unless you are using hacked firmware.
