This is a new one on me... I downloaded some movie vobs which contain both a b&w and colorized version of the same film. The surprise was in seeing the two versions alternating approx every 2 seconds within the vobs. The audio follows the same process and thus repeats itself following each version's video. This process is continuous from beginning to end of all the vobs. Is there a way to extract and separate the 2 versions of the film and , of course, the corresponding audio?

I do not know where did you get a file like this, but if you want to extract one version only I would use Womble Mpeg Video Wizard DVD for that.
Since the picture alternates every 2 second or so, it will take you a while. It may be easier to get correct file instead.
