Problems With Comp? Please Help.

Hey thanks for the people who atleast read this topic....anyway the problem is that my computer does fine and everything but every now and than my computer will slow down for 3 minutes and than go back to normal but 5 minutes after that it will do its slow processin again. im not sure wuts wrong. i can have 1 thing up on the screen and it will still do the slow thing.
But it specially does it in games. i cant play no games without it doin the problem. im thinken its maybe my graphics card. Well here is my specs.
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.80GHz
1.79 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM
NVIDIA Geforce 2 MX 100/200

ok first off what kind of games are you trying to play? and second that hardware is very old
e4300 @ 3GHz
gigabyte 965p-ds3
2gb ddr2 800 OCZ Reaper HPC Edition

im trying to play Unreal Tournament Game of the Year.....and all of it or just the graphics card? and thanks man i very much appreciate the help....i was startin to lose hope of fixin my comp

Oh yeah by the way, everytime it starts goin slow i knotice my fan is louder too if that helps. Please people all help is appreciated.

Sounds like its either using up all the systems RAM or whens the last time the case was opened and all the dust blown out?.
Thats an older game (2000) and that system "should" be able to run OK. Did it ever run it fine or is this a new problem?
Overall, you may be able to get a little better performance with a new card, but most new games want an system thats overall better with a PCI-E 16x slot for graphics and yours is AGP which hasnt been built into mainstream motherboards for roughly 4-5 years.

Naww i been havin this problem for awhile, its not even when i play games it still does that. I just now found out that no matter wut lil thing i do my CPU Usage in my windows Task managers rises high. and i knotice when it gets to 100% it starts goin slow. Does this mean i need a new CPU?

or spyware. spyware can slow a p4 computer down to the speed of a p1 computer.

alright guys, i reinstalled my whole windows and nuked my comp and i got back on and it was still doing it. i think it maybe a hardware problem.

When you say nuked, do you mean that you did the Format C: route? If so, then it appears that you may a hardware problem.
